An avid consumer of books, I am constantly engaging with publications that are of interest to me and help expand my worldview. Some of my greatest inspiration comes from other authors and their insights about our collective existence. Just like a plant needs water, these texts sustain me. Here below, I share with you what I am currently reading and recommend to all my followers:

Principles: Life and Work by Ray Dalio

Get Out of Your Own Way: A Skeptic's Guide to Growth and Fulfillment by Dave Hollis

Limiting beliefs often hold us back and prevent us from obtaining the success we know we are capable of. This book understands that fact, and conveys clearly and honestly how to break free and make the necessary changes to start anew.

Stay tuned as I continue to share books that are influencing my thought process and writing. I have found the ones listed so far to be of great value, and hope you do too.

Communication is at the core of any kind of growth.

If you strive to make improvements on the journey that is life, you must learn to express yourself freely. If you bottle up all the ideas that you wish to convey, your emotions will consume you from within.

Writing is one of the purest forms of my personal expression. Through the act of writing non-fiction, I personally use words to connect with my audience and accelerate their personal evolution.

As an author, communication with your readers often goes both ways. You must learn to absorb feedback in a way that makes you stronger. It is easy to become offended and disregard someone else’s perspective if it makes you feel uncomfortable or on edge.

What can set you apart from others is the ability to take that criticism and wield it as a tool to build a better version of yourself, and your writing.

Below are my 3 writing principles that will enable you to harness the power of communication. Use them to your advantage as you continue acquiring knowledge, clarity, and wisdom, one sentence at a time.

Being direct

Most communication is vague, passive, and roundabout. A large portion of society would rather hide their true thoughts than present them unfiltered.

I don’t do this. Instead, I communicate with intention in the words that I write with an active voice. I make a note of everything I want to say, and relay it with confidence. By leaving no stone unturned, i greatly improve the chances that my non-fiction will resonate.

Think from an outside mindset

It is tempting to fall into the trap of seeing things only through your eyes. After all, this is the way that all of us experience being human.

But by taking a step back, and imagining how a situation you are presenting might appear to someone who is seeing it for the first time, a new outlook may manifest. A different, potentially more effective approach has the ability to materialize when you shift your frame of mind even slightly.

Imagine how your writing ties in with the experiences of your readers. How relatable is it? What additional context might you need to provide? Be authentic, but not unfamiliar. Allow your audience to empathize with your words.

Strive for a personal touch

Communication, when used for good, can be constructive and fruitful. It can build lasting friendships, successful business deals, and even inner peace. Bad communication, on the other hand, has the ability to destroy. Relationships, finances, communities, the list goes on.

Thus, the goal when writing non-fiction should be to communicate without restraint but to always aspire to achieve some kind of resolution in the end. Leave the kind of impression with your readers you would want if you were sitting across from them face-to-face, sharing a meal or having a cup of coffee.

Because even if that is not possible, knowing that you followed these guiding principles in your writing allows you to continue on the path toward self-improvement, and attain a greater understanding of the world we live in.

Quite simply, I was made to write. Through the power of words I am able to communicate freely and convey wisdom to my readers. It’s hard to imagine doing anything else.
I draw inspiration from the world around me. Whether it’s the beauty of nature or everyday human interactions, there is nothing I don’t find significance in and closely observe. Lessons about life can be found everywhere.
Empowerment, self-understanding, visualization, and personal growth. I want all of my readers to transform into the best version of themselves and reach their full potential. I strive to be the catalyst for that change through the guidance that my books provide.
Stay true to what you know. Be authentic and genuine and your words will resonate. Most importantly, write the kind of content that you would want to read.
